This is my current setup. It’s a mix of fitting decisions, a few experiments, and some ongoing tweaks as I try to dial in consistency across the bag. I’m not chasing distance as much as I used to. The focus right now is control, predictable ball flight, and having clubs I trust when I’m standing over the ball. My stock shot is a slight fade, and my miss tends to be left, so a lot of these choices are built around managing that.
I picked up the Tour Edge E725 driver after seeing it perform well on MyGolfSpy. I swapped out the stock Denali Black 60X for a Graphite Design Tour AD GC-6 X shaft that I was fit into previously, and I’ve got the weight set in the fade position.
It’s doing exactly what I hoped it would. I’m hitting more fairways and keeping the ball in play, but I’ve definitely given up some distance, which lines up pretty closely with what I read going in.
I decided to try out Sub70 Golf fairways and went with the 959X line.
The 4 wood is turned down to about 14.5°, which opens the face a bit. I really like the look at address, but I don’t rely on it much. When it comes out, it’s usually off the tee.
The 7 wood has been the surprise. I’ve never gamed one before, but it’s been really solid so far. Easy launch, lands soft, and fills a nice spot in the bag.
Both are paired with the Project X Denali Blue 70 6.5 shaft. For a stock option, it’s been impressive. High launch, plenty of carry. I may look for something a bit lower launching in the 4 wood down the line.
This is the one club I’m still questioning.
It’s a 5 hybrid from the same 959X line, added to try to bridge the gap between the 5 iron and 7 wood. I didn’t get fit for it, and it shows a bit. My typical miss is left, so I’ve got it set 4° open, which helps, but I’m still not convinced it earns a permanent spot in the bag.
This is where things really came together.
I started with the Sub70 699 Pro V3 with MMT 105 S shafts, but the high launch and strong lofts didn’t suit my game. That led me into a full fitting where I tested a few different heads, including a Srixon ZXi7 irons / Srixon ZXi5 irons combo, Sub70 659 CB, and 669 TC.
I ultimately decided on the Sub70 669 TC irons.
The head was a big part of that decision. They have a really clean shape at address and a puttery soft feel that stood out right away. Paired with the LA Golf A-Series Low 105i X shaft, the whole setup gives me a much more controlled launch window, tighter dispersion, and a more consistent feel throughout the set.
This is the most confident I’ve felt with my irons.
I went with the Sub70 287 wedges in 52°, 56°, and 60°, all bent 1° weak.
These have been as solid as anything in the bag. Really versatile, easy to control, and they handle pretty much any shot I need around the greens. No complaints here.
I rotate putters more than anything else, and right now I’m gaming the BGT Paradox mallet putter based on a recommendation.
This is still a work in progress. My miss tends to be right, and I’ve noticed I’m forward pressing more than usual with this putter to try and start the ball on line. Still figuring it out.
Still evolving, but this setup is getting closer to what I want. More control, fewer big misses, and better scoring opportunities.

That Tour Edge driver is a sleeper pick. How do you like it compared to the big brands?
Honestly it surprised me. I really like it with the Tour AD-GC shaft.
Clean setup. How long have you been playing the BGT putter?
What made you go with the LA Golf shafts?
Hit them the best. It was really close between - $-Taper, Modus and SteelFiber
Love the Sub 70 irons. Been thinking about pulling the trigger on a set myself.
Sub70 irons are so good
Do it. The 669 TC are so soft. Some of the best feeling irons I've hit
Solid bag
Great bag
The 669 TC irons are so clean. How do they feel compared to a full CB set?
Honestly I didn't notice a huge difference
